This is a great place to stay when attending an event at Lifeway's Ridgecrest Conference Center. It is quiet and well cared for, mostly by volunteers who are there helping at the conference center and staying at the campground. You would be hard pressed to find nicer, more helpful campground hosts. If you are not in real good shape, you will need a car to get back and forth to the conference center. The road between is a public road (not very busy) and is VERY hilly. Up and over the interstate then down to the bottom of the center then back up to any of the facilities. The laundry is small (two pairs) but free.

Good place for an overnight stop. We stopped twice in a week. The park is close (about 2 miles) to lots of restaurants and shopping. The sites are plenty long if you keep your toad hooked-up, and fairly level. As stated in previous reviews, this is a work in progress, the playground, pool and tent camping area are in the "future projects" area on their site map. There is a major power transmission line running between the current sites and the bath house. We tried using AT&T broadband without much success (maybe interference from the power lines?). The sign coming from the north (exit 222) is tough to see.

We stayed here twice in two weeks. The price we put here reflects a $10 coupon they gave for the next stay, which we used on the way home. The sites are level and long enough to leave toad hooked-up. The sites are a bit close together and to keep the toad hooked-up we had to park in proximity to trees that did not allow for extending the awning. They have a nice reasonably priced pancake breakfast. The pool and play areas are nice.

Nice campground. We stayed for a week. Only downsides were - it was tough to get our unit level even with jacks, and the site was muddy in the rain. The staff went out of their way to help when there was any problem. The walk / bike ride into town was easy, and the Fisherman's Picnic was a lot of fun. (It took two hours of redialing on January 5th to get through for reservations). The indoor pool was great (the very cool summer would have made an outdoor pool unusable). Don't jump in the lake, you'll freeze to death. We'll be back at every opportunity.

This is a really nice park. We stayed twice in two weeks. Some reviewers have panned their rules - I did not find any oppressive rules mostly they were along the line of the "Golden Rule". They did have a lot of signs to keep you well informed (probably a little German Heritage) but our three girls had a lot of fun with the pool, mini-golf and playground without getting called on any rule. They have a good parts store if you break something on the road (geared mostly to towables) and prices were not out of line. Our sites were plenty long and almost level enough to keep the jacks stowed. We will keep this one on our "return" list.

It is nice state park. Up side - big well spaced sites, nice play areas for kids, lots of stuff to do in the park. Down side - no water at the sites (but water is available), sites are grass and dirt, probably muddy in rain. Signage inside the park was adequate except at the entrance to the campground. This is temporary due to construction, but it caused us great headaches as we wound up at the park office where we had to disconnect the toad to turn around and find the campground. When you see the construction site turn whether you see the sign or not and DO NOT GO TO THE PARK OFFICE. We will likely be back (now that we know where we are going) since we have family in town.

OK for a night, but we wouldn't spend a long time here. Site was long enough but not very level and very much in need of fresh gravel; a little rain made the site very muddy. Pool was very cold but kiddie pool was OK. We pretty much had the place to ourselves and although the campground is close to the interstate, road noise was not a problem.

The park is really nice, we stayed here last year (on the "old" side) for Mardi Gras (we live about 10 miles away) and will probably make it an annual event. This year we stayed on the "new" side and lucked into a sewer site (there are only a few). The bath house is new and the restrooms were clean, although we did not use them, the showers looked to need some cleaning. There is a lot to do as mentioned in other reviews. If you plan to come during Mardi Gras, make reservations well in advance, especially if you want the sewer sites.

This is a very nice park. We are thinking of finding a reason to stay a couple of nights to see the "moon bow". We stayed here both on the way to and from a visit to Ohio. The couple who own and operate the park are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. There is a small playground for the kids, plenty of area to walk around, and if its raining, they have a Wii to play with while you are doing some laundry. Our site was level enough to not use jacks, but it would have been a chore to unhook and re-hook our toad if we had needed to.

This is a very nice park that we have used several times while visiting family in Columbus. The staff is very friendly and helpful, although understandably not around all of the time since it was Christmas week and there were not many guests around. They had at least a dozen sites with full hook-ups available in spite of very cold weather. We did need leveling jacks as we have on most of our visits. There is a nice playground and pool (which we did not even think of using this particular stay).

This is a very nice park for an overnight. Our site was nice and somewhat level, but we did use leveling jacks for comfort. We were one of only a handful of guests this particular night. There is a small playground and a water slide (which was closed for the season). This would probably be a great place to bring the kids during the summer.

The very friendly and helpful staff, helped us park in the rain. Our site was long enough to not unhook toad but we did need leveling jacks. This campground is far enough from I-10 to be very quiet but near enough to be convenient. The interior roads need a lot of work - you will find out if you missed closing a cabinet or drawer. The playground looks adequate but it was wet so we did not use it. They do have a better than average (from my experience) store and you can get a pizza and some breakfast. We would use this campground again.

A good park for an overnight with a nice playground for the kids. Sites would be muddy in rain due to lack of gravel or solid surface. Our site was level enough to not use leveling jacks, and long enough to not unhook toad. Departure is a bit tricky as you have to go up the road and make a u-turn to return to Interstate 10. Very friendly and helpful staff. This is about the 5th time we have used this campground and has been consistent each time.

A nice campground for a visit to Charleston. We were here 4 nights over Thanksgiving and this was about the 4th time for us. They could use more playground equipment. The interior roads are nice but many of the sites are dirt (or mud in the rain) ours had some gravel and was level enough to not use leveling jacks. The staff is friendly and helpful (as long as you don't exceed the 10mph speed limit). There are plenty of groceries and other conveniences nearby. We did hear some road noise but none of the train/ airplane noise mentioned in other reviews.

A good park for an overnight. The playground could use an overhaul, but at least there is one (the other campground in the area does not). Our site was long enough (barely) to not unhook toad, and was level enough to not use leveling jacks. Interior roads could use some grading work. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is easy access to I-95. We will camp here again.
